Benefits

  • Medical Benefits

    -Victims would be entitled to receive free of cost 100 per cent medical treatment including medicine, food, bedding and plastic or reconstructive surgery, if any, from amongst any of the Government or Government approved Hospitals. The amount would be reimbursed by the Women and Child Development Department.

    -No medical hospital or speciality, government owned or privately owned would deny specialised or any form of treatment to any victim on any ground, when such victim is brought before or approaches such facility for treatment.

  • Rehabilitation

    -Monthly financial assistance of Rs. 8,000 to victims who come in the definition of disability under Section 2 (i) of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities Protection of Rights of Full Participation) Act, 1995 would be provided by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department.

    -Apart from this, the victim of acid attack would be given preference in allotment of fair price shops by the Food and Supply Department

  • Financial Assistance

    - A sum of Rs. One lakh would be paid to acid victim within 15 days of occurrence of such incident.

    Loss of life due to Acid Attack Rs. 5 lakhs
    Acid Attack involving defacement, loss of limb, or part or body or plastic surgery Rs. 3 lakhs
    Acid attack not involving defacement, loss of limb, or part of body or plastic surgery Rs. 50,000

Appeal

If any victim is denied compensation, appeal to the SLSA within 90 days

You are entitled to first aid and medical treatment free of cost under Section 357 C of the Code of Criminal Procedure all hospitals, whether public or private and whether run by the central government or the state government.

  • Interim Relief

    An application for interim relief can be made to the DSLA/ SLSA for immediate First Aid or Medical Benefits. The SLSA shall grant relief to victims of Rupees One Lakh within 15 Days of being brought to notice. The order for such relief shall be passed within 7 days and SLSA shall pay compensation within 8 days of passing of the order

    An additional sum of Rupees Two lakhs shall be awarded and paid as expeditiously and positively within two months.

  • Final Compensation

    75% of the compensation amount shall be kept in a FD in the name of the victim for a period of minimum 3 years. The other 25% shall be available for utilisation and initial expenses

    In exceptional cases the withdrawal may be allowed for educational or medical expenses or other urgent needs at the discretion of SLSA/DLSA.

    The interest accumulated in the FDR form shall be credited in the Savings Account on a monthly basis which can be withdrawn by the beneficiary.

  • Mode of Payment

    Bank account is needed to avail the compensation. If you don’t have a bank account, the concerned DLSA shall help opening the bank account in the name of the victim or dependents, as the case may be.

  • Appeal

    If you are not satisfied with the quorum of compensation granted you can appeal within 30 days from the date of receipt of order before the Chairperson, DLSA

Right to Reservation of jobs in the Central Government

You are eligible for reservation in jobs of the Central Government under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. In case of any discrimination you may file a complaint with the grievance redressal officer of the respective government establishment. These officers will maintain a register of complaint carrying details such as date of complaint; name of complainant; the name of the establishment or person against whom the complaint has been lodged; the gist of the complaint and the date of disposal by the grievance redressal officer. Every complaint shall be inquired into within two months of its registration and outcome thereof or action taken thereon shall be communicated to the complainant or person with benchmark disability

Victims of Acid attack are also entitled to additional compensation of Rs. 1 lac under Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund Victims of Acid Attack are also entitled to additional special financial assistance up to Rs. 5 lacs who need treatment expenses over and above the compensation paid by the respective State/UTs in terms of Central Victim Compensation Fund Guidelines-2016,
